Library Cards: We encourage all children 6 and over to get a library card. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when applying for a card. The parent must sign the registration card and provide valid identification. Children 12 and over do not need to be accompanied by a parent to get a library card. Responsibility for any items checked out ultimately lies with the parent or legal guardian of any minor under the age of 18.

Your library card must be presented every time items are checked out. If a library card is lost, there is a $1.00 replacement fee. Please report a lost or stolen library card to the Circulation Staff as soon as you become aware that it is missing to prevent use of your card by an unauthorized person. We strongly recommend not allowing others to use your library card--you are responsible for any overdue fines or replacement costs they incur while using your card.

Loan Periods: Books and most other items have a 14 Day loan period. Videos, DVDs, and Video Games have a 7 Day loan period. Any 14 day items may be renewed, unless another library patron has placed a hold on the item. Renewals can be made online, by phone as well as in person.

Videos, DVDs, PlayStation, XBOX and Wii games, E-books may not be checked out by anyone under the age of 18, and may not be renewed.

Fines: Fines are $.10 per day per item for all children's material except for Videos, E-books, and Software, which are $1.00 per day per item. Fines on all other non-children's items are also $.10 per day per item.

Unattended children: Children are encouraged to visit the library, however, it is library policy that children under six years of age be accompanied by an adult or designated responsible person.
